Home Remedy for Acne Scar

Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, excruciating 40 to 50 million Americans. While many people recover from acne without any permanent effects, some people are left with contorting acne scars. Scarring is generally caused by a chronic condition of acne. Scarring" refers to a process where collagen within the skin is detrimented from inflammation, leading to permanent texture changes in the skin.

However, many patients refer to scarring when they see color changes which remain for months after an acne lesion has healed. There are different kinds of acne scarring: ice pick scarring, atrophic scarring, and hypertrophic scarring. Ice pick scars are deep pitted scars with precipitous edges. Atrophic scars are pitted but have smooth borders and are not as deep.

Hypertrophic scar, more common on the back and chest, are thick ponderous scars that sit above the surface of the skin. Most serious scarring is caused by the more severe forms of acne, with nodules more likely to leave permanent scars than other types of acne. Scars of more or less the same size that may be psychical distressing to one person may be accepted by another person as "not too bad."

Treatment for acne may help minimize scarring, several dermatological procedures. Chemical peels can improve small, depressed scars and some larger scars. Peeling may also be valuable in treating any remaining acne by removing comedones (blackheads and whiteheads). Soft-tissue augmentation can correct some atrophic (loss of tissue) scars.

Laser resurfacing uses high-energy light to burn away damaged skin. Laser resurfacing can be used to reduce wrinkles and fine scars. There are various home remedies is helpful and reduce acne scars. Rub the acne with garlic cloves several times a day. Aloe vera juice or gel fades scars and if applied straightaway after a burn or a cut, can prevent scars entirely.

Lemon juice is a citric acid which is a part of AHAs group which is an effective home remedy for reducing the acne scars. Lavender oil can also be applied on the acne scars as this oil is very gentle and includes regenerative characteristics. Apply cucumber juice to the scars and leave for 15 minutes and wash the face with cold water. Application of olive oil is also benignant in getting rid of any kind of scars.
